Assignment role is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for assignment role. The allowed values are PRIMARY, SECONDARY. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps assignment role consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined assignment role states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
