Calendar event status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for calendar event status. The allowed values are UPCOMING, IN_PROGRESS, COMPLETED, OVERDUE. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps calendar event status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined calendar event status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
