Cohort session status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for cohort session status. The allowed values are DRAFT, SORTING, FINALIZED, IN_PROGRESS, ARCHIVED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps cohort session status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined cohort session status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
