is required (CourseProgram.isRequired) is a field stored on each course program record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Boolean value and is part of the course program record's data. The isRequired field belongs to the course program it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set isRequired while working with that CourseProgram record. Because isRequired is part of the CourseProgram record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the course program.
