Decision category is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for decision category. The allowed values are CURRICULUM, FACULTY, BUDGET, POLICY, SCHEDULING, ACCREDITATION, OTHER. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps decision category consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined decision category states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
