Decision outcome is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for decision outcome. The allowed values are APPROVED, REJECTED, DEFERRED, MODIFIED, WITHDRAWN. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps decision outcome consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined decision outcome states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
