Fiscal period status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for fiscal period status. The allowed values are UPCOMING, FP_ACTIVE, FP_CLOSED, FP_ARCHIVED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps fiscal period status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined fiscal period status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
