Forecast method is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for forecast method. The allowed values are LINEAR_REGRESSION, MOVING_AVERAGE, WEIGHTED_AVERAGE. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps forecast method consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined forecast method states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
