Fund type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for fund type. The allowed values are ENDOWMENT, ALUMNI, GIFT, RESTRICTED_GRANT, REVOLVING, AUXILIARY, OTHER_FUND. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps fund type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined fund type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
