Grant status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for grant status. The allowed values are SUBMITTED, UNDER_REVIEW, AWARDED, DECLINED, ACTIVE, COMPLETED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps grant status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined grant status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
