Map status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for map status. The allowed values are DRAFT, ACTIVE, ARCHIVED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps map status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined map status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
