Offer status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for offer status. The allowed values are PENDING, ACCEPTED, DECLINED, WITHDRAWN, EXPIRED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps offer status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined offer status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
