Process category is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for process category. The allowed values are ADMINISTRATIVE, ACADEMIC, HIRING, BUDGET_PROCESS, ACCREDITATION_PROCESS, STUDENT, OTHER_PROCESS. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps process category consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined process category states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
