Process document — department id

department id (ProcessDocument.departmentId) is a field stored on each process document record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the process document record's data. The departmentId field belongs to the process document it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set departmentId while working with that ProcessDocument record. Because departmentId is part of the ProcessDocument record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the process document.
