description (Program.description) is a field stored on each program record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the program record's data. The description field belongs to the program it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set description while working with that Program record. Because description is part of the Program record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the program.
