Rating level is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for rating level. The allowed values are UNSATISFACTORY, NEEDS_IMPROVEMENT, MEETS_EXPECTATIONS, EXCEEDS_EXPECTATIONS, OUTSTANDING. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps rating level consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined rating level states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
