Report type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for report type. The allowed values are ANNUAL_ASSESSMENT, SELF_STUDY, PROGRAM_REVIEW, FACULTY_QUALIFICATIONS, BOARD_SUMMARY, DEAN_PROVOST, CUSTOM. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps report type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined report type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
