Review outcome type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for review outcome type. The allowed values are MERIT_INCREASE, PROMOTION_RECOMMENDED, NO_ACTION, IMPROVEMENT_PLAN, COMMENDATION. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps review outcome type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined review outcome type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
