Search candidate — last name

last name (SearchCandidate.lastName) is a field stored on each search candidate record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the search candidate record's data. The lastName field belongs to the search candidate it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set lastName while working with that SearchCandidate record. Because lastName is part of the SearchCandidate record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the search candidate.
