Search status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for search status. The allowed values are OPEN, CLOSED, CANCELLED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps search status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined search status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
