Section type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for section type. The allowed values are NARRATIVE, DATA_TABLE, CHART, METRIC_SUMMARY, FACULTY_MATRIX, ENROLLMENT_DATA, OUTCOMES_DATA, BUDGET_DATA, CURRICULUM_DATA, CUSTOM. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps section type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined section type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
