user id (Session.userId) is a field stored on each session record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the session record's data. The userId field belongs to the session it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set userId while working with that Session record. Because userId is part of the Session record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the session.
