Space type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for space type. The allowed values are OFFICE, LAB, CLASSROOM, STORAGE, CONFERENCE, SHARED, OTHER. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps space type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined space type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
