Term type is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for term type. The allowed values are SEMESTER, QUARTER, TRIMESTER. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps term type consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined term type states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
