Validation status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for validation status. The allowed values are PENDING, PASSED, FAILED, WARNING. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps validation status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined validation status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
