Workspace status is a fixed list of values that Chalk uses for workspace status. The allowed values are WS_ACTIVE, WS_FINALIZED, WS_ARCHIVED, SUPERSEDED. A record can only ever hold one of these exact values, which keeps workspace status consistent across curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget records, as well as the API. When you see one of these on a record, it is one of the defined workspace status states rather than free text, so reports and automations can rely on it.
