RenderLog.requestId ties a log row to the request that produced it. The render endpoints read the X-Request-Id header from the call (generating a UUID when absent) and stamp it on the log, so an upstream product can trace a render outcome back to its own request id. The column is indexed, making lookups by requestId fast when debugging a specific failed or slow render. It is the same identifier carried through the request-context wrapper for the duration of the call.
