The createdBy field on a ChartAnnotation establishes who documented a particular site event. This is useful when reviewing the annotation history for a site: if an annotation's label or annotationDate appears incorrect, knowing who created it allows you to contact the right person for clarification. For events with regulatory significance — such as annotations marking the start of a court-ordered corrective action — the createdBy record also provides accountability evidence that the event was properly documented by authorized compliance staff.
