A chain-of-custody form starts as Draft while being prepared in the office. It moves to InField when samplers take it to the well, Shipped when samples leave for the laboratory, Received when the lab confirms receipt, and Closed once all analytical results are matched and validated. Monitoring the CoCStatus at each stage helps ensure no samples are lost or delayed.
