The description on a CustomReport appears in Piper's report list as a subtitle or tooltip beneath the title. Use it to explain what the layout produces — for example, "Monthly one-page summary of water levels and VOC concentrations for client distribution" or "Internal QC digest comparing field duplicates to primary samples." A good description prevents confusion when multiple similar custom reports exist for the same site, and helps new team members understand which layout to use for a given deliverable.
