The updatedBy field on a CustomReport tracks the last person to edit the layout's blocksJson, pageSize, orientation, or metadata. If a report that previously produced clean output suddenly renders incorrectly, checking updatedBy and updatedAt tells you who made the most recent change and when — giving you a starting point for diagnosing the issue. In teams where multiple people edit report layouts, updatedBy provides accountability and helps coordinate changes so two people are not simultaneously modifying the same layout.
