Exceedance Threshold Set

An Exceedance records the thresholdSetId of the regulatory program that the AnalyticalResult violated. This tells compliance staff immediately which set of standards — state MCLs, federal standards, or a site-specific permit — flagged the result. When a site has multiple ThresholdSets assigned via ThresholdSetAssignment, a single high-concentration result may generate multiple Exceedances — one for each ThresholdSet that has a ThresholdValue for the analyte in question. The thresholdSetId distinguishes these parallel exceedances so regulatory reports can group violations by program.
