Different analytes have very different holding-time tolerances — volatile organic compounds must typically be analyzed within 14 days of collection, while some metals have 180-day limits. The analyteId on a HoldingTimeViolation tells you exactly which chemical was affected. This matters for triage: a holding-time violation for benzene (short hold time, high regulatory concern) is far more serious than one for a metal with a six-month window. Use analyteId to prioritize your response and determine whether re-sampling is warranted.
