The packageId on a ReportVersion is the key that connects the rendered output back to the ReportPackage that was rendered. All versions sharing the same packageId represent the revision history of that one report — Draft v1, Draft v2, Final v3, and so on. When you open a ReportPackage in Piper, its version history is retrieved by querying on packageId. This history is important for showing regulators that earlier drafts existed and that the final submitted version is the one that was approved.
