Surface Completion

SurfaceCompletion describes the above-ground or at-grade installation style of a monitoring well, which determines how it is protected and accessed during field visits.

The surface completion affects how field staff locate and access a well during sampling. A FlushMount well is finished at grade and covered with a protective cap, common in paved or trafficked areas. AboveGrade and StickUp wells have a riser extending above ground. A Vault well is enclosed in a below-grade or above-grade protective box. Knowing the SurfaceCompletion helps field crews bring the right tools and set correct depth measurements relative to the top of casing.
