The analyteId on a ThresholdValue ties the regulatory limit to one specific analyte — for example, benzene or trichloroethylene. During exceedance detection, Piper matches each AnalyticalResult's analyteId to the ThresholdValues in all active ThresholdSets assigned to the result's site. A match triggers the comparison of the result's normalizedValue against the thresholdValue. If an analyte in your monitoring program does not have a corresponding ThresholdValue in any assigned ThresholdSet, no exceedance can be detected for it regardless of the concentration measured.
