The WellGroupMember wellId field references the MonitoringWell that has been added to a group. When generating a group-scoped report or trend chart, piper resolves the wellId for each WellGroupMember to fetch sampling events and analytical results for those specific wells. A single MonitoringWell can appear in multiple WellGroupMember records under different groups, enabling flexible reporting arrangements without duplicating well data.
