Each user gets one role per barn, and it gates their permissions — so a scale operator can weigh but not pay out settlements, and only an owner or manager can change fee schedules. Choose the role that matches the job:
Owner — full control, including money and settings.
Manager — runs the sale day and most settings; broad access short of full ownership.
Intake clerk — checks consignors and animals in at arrival.
Scale operator — captures weights at the scale.
Ring clerk — records sales (buyer, price, hammer) as the auction runs.
Office clerk — invoicing, payments, and back-office work.
Give people the narrowest role that lets them do their job. Sensitive actions — settlements, voids, fee changes — are reserved for the higher roles, so over-granting Owner or Manager weakens that protection.
