Budget category — allocated amount

allocated amount (BudgetCategory.allocatedAmount) is a field stored on each budget category record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Float value and is part of the budget category record's data. The allocatedAmount field belongs to the budget category it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set allocatedAmount while working with that BudgetCategory record. Because allocatedAmount is part of the BudgetCategory record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the budget category.
