The BudgetCategory record (BudgetCategory) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each BudgetCategory row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, nodeId, type, name, allocatedAmount, notes, createdAt, updatedAt, tenant. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a budget category as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every BudgetCategory row carries a tenantId, one institution's budget category data is never visible to another.
