Budget node — total amount

total amount (BudgetNode.totalAmount) is a field stored on each budget node record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a Float value and is part of the budget node record's data. The totalAmount field belongs to the budget node it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set totalAmount while working with that BudgetNode record. Because totalAmount is part of the BudgetNode record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the budget node.
