It holds a Int value and is part of the cohort parameter record's data. The preferenceRank field belongs to the cohort parameter it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set preferenceRank while working with that CohortParameter record. Because preferenceRank is part of the CohortParameter record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the cohort parameter.
