dean name (College.deanName) is a field stored on each college record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the college record's data. The deanName field belongs to the college it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set deanName while working with that College record. Because deanName is part of the College record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the college.
