The CompensationBand record (CompensationBand) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each CompensationBand row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, departmentId, rank, medianSalary, minSalary, maxSalary, count, academicYear, source. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a compensation band as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every CompensationBand row carries a tenantId, one institution's compensation band data is never visible to another.
