It holds a String value and is part of the compensation band record's data. The source field belongs to the compensation band it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set source while working with that CompensationBand record. Because source is part of the CompensationBand record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the compensation band.
