Decision — rationale

rationale (Decision.rationale) is a field stored on each decision record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the decision record's data. The rationale field belongs to the decision it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set rationale while working with that Decision record. Because rationale is part of the Decision record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the decision.
