Department — code

code (Department.code) is a field stored on each department record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the department record's data. The code field belongs to the department it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set code while working with that Department record. Because code is part of the Department record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the department.
