Department

The Department record (Department) is a record type in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. Each Department row is scoped to a tenant and stores fields such as id, tenantId, collegeId, name, code, chairName, createdAt, updatedAt, tenant, college. These fields hold the data Chalk needs to track a department as faculty, staff, and automations work with it. Because every Department row carries a tenantId, one institution's department data is never visible to another.
