Department — tenant id

tenant id (Department.tenantId) is a field stored on each department record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the department record's data. The tenantId field belongs to the department it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set tenantId while working with that Department record. Because tenantId is part of the Department record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the department.
