Faculty search — department id

department id (FacultySearch.departmentId) is a field stored on each faculty search record in Chalk, the higher-education academic operations platform for curriculum, assessment, faculty, scheduling, accreditation, and budget. It holds a String value and is part of the faculty search record's data. The departmentId field belongs to the faculty search it is recorded on, so faculty, staff, and automations read or set departmentId while working with that FacultySearch record. Because departmentId is part of the FacultySearch record, it stays consistent with the rest of that record's data and is scoped to the tenant that owns the faculty search.
